Look for menu item "Enable Apt" or grab dsl-dpkg.dsl

Did you install it?
mydsl-load dsl-dpkg.dsl

If you need help with understanding how Debian packages work, go to Google and search for: linux man apt-get.

Friendly reminder: DSL isn't fully compatible with Debian Woody (which even Debian no longer supports), and getting too ambitions with newer Debian repositories may cause some serious issues.

mydsl-load dsl-dpkg.dsl

Doing that got me, "Please mount the media containing optional dir and try again"

The file I downloaded was dsl-dpkg.unc, but doing "mydsl-load dsl-dpkg.unc" did nothing...

Edit: Wait, found the .dsl package. Ill update in a few...

Alright, so dpkg is installed.

But..

When I do "dpkg -i ttd.deb" it says... "dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privlages".

Posted by roberts on Feb. 03 2008,15:48
That is standard operation procedure.

Use sudo dpkg -i ......

Alright, I got it unpacked and all, thanks very much for the help.

But what I am trying to run, (OpenTTD), says, "openttd: error when loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".

Does this mean this application is incompatible or something?

Posted by roberts on Feb. 03 2008,16:40
Yes. Likely a kernel 2.6 based system

Ah ok. Well, thanks for all the help!

It looks like the stable version (0.5.3) of the deb package was built against libstdc++.so.5
I guess trying to install the .so.6 could be complicated (appears in sarge), so you could use stable or compile it yourself (esp. if you really want the newest beta)
