Hi guys
im still new to Linux especially in file sharing between windows platform and Linux.
Ive been google but mostly only teach how to install binary packages of SAMBA and DSL-N dont have a samba.dsl yet but only has in DSL.
If anyone got SAMBA working on DSL-N please show me some hints for write up a HOWTO would be very great help!
All i need to my windows box able to transfer files from the Linux box.

RC3 of dsl-n does have Samba/LinNeighborhood in the base system.
You need to stay current in the testing cycle. |

Um... would it be naughty of me to say I used the DSL extension for Samba and it worked?
I don't have any shares on the DSL box, but I use the Samba GUI to mount the shared directory so I can grab stuff off the other machine. (the other machine is FreeBSD though, not windows)
To use the interface, I click on 'Add' and then put in the IP address of the machine I want to connect to. It should now be on the list in the main window. Double clicking on it shows its shares. When you see the share you want to connect to, right click on it then 'Mount'. Put in your SMB user name and password for the machine you want to connect to and press 'Mount'. This will create a MNT directory within your home directory which is the share.

for easy and beginner like me.
Here is what i did...
Make the folder you want to share in windows box become SHARED FOLDER!
download samba.dsl from DSL website and install it and turn it on....
Assume all the networks name and stuff on windows box are default when you just set up windows (ie: WORKGROUP)
All i did is after open samba it detect my windows box IP and name straight away so i just click on it and then "scan with user name"
I just enter user name and password (if made) and there you go.....everything in the windows box that was shared is seen
