I have a keyboard which some aux buttons above the keys, such as Mail, Home, Vol+, Vol- and so on.
I would really like to be able to use specifically the Volume up/down buttons to control a volume setting on the mixer. I tried seeing what would happen in xkeycaps, but as expected that didn't do anything for me.
Do you think this would be possible, or is it a bit of a dream? |

Anything is possible. Depends a lot on how much you want it.
Do you know about window managers? DSL and DSL-N use fluxbox by default, but you can install any others if you use a frugal install or remaster.
Here is a link to the fluxbox doc:
Chapter 5 is the keyboard binding chapter.
Also be warned that the fluxbox version used with DSL and DSL-N is very old, and not everything said in the documentation applies.
Also, "xev" is not included with DSL-N, but it is with DSL. |

Thanks for that link, sounds like the place to be looking. It's on hold at the moment because I have GTK to learn about to fix up other issues which are more annoying for me.
Bit by bit I'm getting there |
