Personally, I feel that the only ting Windows has over Linux is the software available for it.

For my daily work, I need Flash, Photoshop, After Effects, and such... If production packages existed that could do the same job, and maintain compatibility, I would have left Windows a long time ago.

btw: You must be a bainless turd to pop into an experimental Linux distro forum to suggest we are all fools for using Linux.

You've made my day with a forum posting like this and gave me a good laugh.
durbnpoisn, you comments back also made me laugh. ( bainless turd )Personally, comments like this shouldn't be taken to heart.
As for me I been a Linux user for 8 months and sorry to say a Windows user as well. personally I like both OS systems and don't hate good old Bill Gates like a lot of Lunux users do. And yes my Windows crashes and get infected, but I don't care as a reinstall of both systems is easier done in a few hours on a cold day when there's not much else to do. I have all my favourite programs on CD's ready to be reinstalled. I believe if the average computer user knew how easy it is to reinstall Windows or Linux, they wouldn't worry about all these programs required to fix all these average computer problems. Very Happy

I use to reinstall windows all the time. Did you know that you can only install it so many times then they make you call in and give them your code then they give you a new code, eventually they tell you, you have to buy a new disk your not aloud to install that one again, WHAT! I won't post what i told those pricks but you get the point, there such bastards they won't even let you use the windows you paid for because you installed to many times. Evil or Very Mad

He must be referring to XP. Prior to that, this bit with activating Windows wasn't an issue.

Another amusing note... My main machine at home is a 4 year old Win2k box. I've yet to ever have to reinstall it. I can't imagine why anyone would constantly have to reinstall their OS for any reason unless they are constantly messing things up.

In another amusing note... The machine I'm on right now is running DSL-N. It was made for Win98. It runs Win98 like such crap, I had to kill it. Runs much better like this.

Yes it was windows XP, i can't remember how many times i reinstalled. It was for the kids computers in our computer room. I usally reinstalled when i found a virus or spyware that i couldn't get rid of, it's amazing how much these kids pick up playing games online. I've since tightened the belt on them and make them use limited accounts. Now i may reinstall about once a year just to clean out the crap. Laughing

They made me get a new copy about 4 months ago, the one i had was 5 years old. It still worked perfectly well and i had no problems installing with it, There just gready and wanted me to buy a new one. Twisted Evil

I'm sure that's the case. But you probably could have told them to stick it, and they would have just let you reactivate the one you bought. If it were me, I would have found one of those well known hacks that let's you bypass that unneccessary step.
Either that or install Win2k.
