Well, you were correct, I wasn't using the nodhcp boot code. Now that I am it works great. My next step is to get the sound to work. The network card works great and I can't thank you enough for all the help you have given to get this old laptop back up and running. A quick question for you though, I know this is not the place to ask but here goes. Now my mydsl programs aren't in the list of mydsl's when I click on the mydsl icon. I go to testing and there are just a few and when I do to multimedia there are only 6. Were did they all go or what the hell did I do this time to screw this thing up??? I am looking for the alsa.dsl. It isn't in any of the mydsl's. I used knoppix and I used alsaconfig and it worked and I used puppy linux and alsaconfig worked but oss doesn't seem to cut it. By the way, I lived in OC, CA from 91-95. MCAS Tustin, small world huh. |

Glad to hear that your wireless is working!
The mydsl desktop icon for DSL-N is pointing to a separate repository of extensions. That is why some areas are very sparse. It is only when feedback is given that a DSL extension works with DSL-N then we will place a copy in the DSL-N repositories. The difference in libraries cause many DSL extensions not to work in DSL-N. DSL-N is gtk2 whereas DSL is gtk1. So gtk1 apps will have many missing libs in DSL-N.
I use an alsa.dsl and it still needs some cleanup but still works for me. I will place a copy of it in the System section for you to try. |

Hiya all,
seems I got a problem with my D-Link G630/Rev E2 on my vintage ThinkPad 380XD.
As I'm fairly new to everything Penguin-related I used ndiswrapper to install the card drivers (netrt61g) which seems to be ok now.
lspci gives back "Network controller: RaLink: Unknown device 0302" .
How do I proceed from here? Bin my card and buy a supported one? Sell the card to a Windoze user?
Any help is warmly appreciated...
