The DSL-N 0.1RC4 includes gaim, but it cannot be used with MSN because it needs SSL-support. Could you please compile gaim with SSL-support in your next release ? The SSL FAQ states "You will need either GnuTLS (and all its dependencies) or Mozilla NSS & NSPR" , but I'm confident that you are able to extract the necessary code and avoid bloating.
