I've been trying to make a firefox icon, but it keeps disapearing. I'd create it, restart x, and it would work. But then when I boot up my computer it's gone, not even in the .xtdesktop folder and now all my icons are gone.
Can anybody give me insight into what's going on? Should I post some type of log? Also it may be worth noting that I have installed firefox onto my usb stick, so it runs directly from there, no .uci or mydsl extenstion.
Thanks |

DSL-N uses xtdesk as the icon manager.
xtdesk is driven by a collection of .lnk files in the directory .xtdesktop
Now inside each .lnk file is described its icon image file.
If a single icon image file is missing or perhaps mis-typed and therefor it cannot be found, the entire icon collection is not displayed.
Check your .lnk files. Note, you can always grab a copy of system icons from /etc/skel/.xtdesktop directory.
You can always boot with the norestore option as well.
Also note, that system icons and any other permanent icons should use the anchor tag.
Extension icons should not have the anchor tag set. Extensions are not permanent and are loaded via the mydsl=xxxx boot option or autoloaded via a mydsl directory from a persistent store. |

thanks for the help robert, I have gotten my icons working again. I've decided to make my links in the fluxbox menu because it isn't quite so picky |
