|
|
Hello,
I have a Packard Bell notebook with a Ralink RT 2500 WLAN-card and an Ali M5263 Ethernet Controller.
When I boot the notebook with an external USB-Harddisk (with XUbuntu, Kernel 2.6.15), my network-card is identified as eth0 and among other modules the module uli526x (and rt2500 for the WLAN, but I don't want to use that) are loaded and I have access to the internet.
As I couldn't find the module uli526x in DSL (I can boot it with an 256 MB-USB-stick), I tried to copy the module of Kernel 2.6.15 into 2.6.12, changed modules.dep and made depmod -a .
When I tried modprobe uli526x, this failed as I have expected....
Where can I get the appropriate module uli526x for the DSL 2.6.12 kernel ?
How can I save the settings then (DSL is fully copied into RAM) ?
Thank you very much.

If the modules is not present then try ndiswrapper check sourceforge for list of supported cards. Or google for the source for your module.
Use backup/restore as described in the help button in dslpanel. |

Thank you roberts,
meanwhile I found the module at nvidia.com (Uli drivers), but it is in source code: uli526x.c.
According to the readme.txt I should compile the kernel.
But I can't do that with DSL-N
So maybe the best thing would be, to wait for a new kernel version in DSL-N, where the module will be included.

No need to wait. Look here for your card's ndiswarpper driver.

Thank you once again.
Here I also haven't found my module.
What I have understood is, that ndiswrapper "only" supports WLAN-cards.
O.k., I have one inside, but I don't want to use it (I also don't have the other hardware, like a WLAN-router, etc.).
I also saw, that ndiswrapper has also to be compiled out of the sources, and that's another problem with DSL-N...
