Damn Small Linux - Not!

I am not trying to be negative there is much to like but I wanted to list something I miss.

I don't mind the minimal set of icons with DSL-N. That is fine because many of the DSL icons I never use but am too lazy to remove. However, I would like to be able to easily add my favorites like emelFM. Is there a way that you could accomplish this without to much work? Thanks.

There is an icon tool in the right click menu.

Doobit - I tried that but I could not figure out how to add the icon for emelFM since there was no .png for it. Or maybe I am missing something and you are talking about something I am not familar with.

You can copy your favorite icons pngs into the .xtdesktop/ directory and the icon tool will pick them up. Of course you will have to be using a backup/restore to persist them. Then again, as this is alpha, maybe some other basic icons should be on as a default.

you can find "full path" command of the program you want to create icon in : home/dsl/fluxbox/menu

The first time it worked OK. I just copy icons from one of my partition. They were copy ok. Then the icon tools pick them up and I installed in the desktop without problem.
Here is something interesting.
I did the same a second time with more icons. They were copy ok becasue I can see them in the .xtdesktop/ even after reboot. The problem is that the icontools does not pickthem up any more.
Is there any limitis can many icons the icon tools pick up?
Is there any limitation in the size or the name fiels that the icontool can not see it.
Is there a problem in the code that it does not work when the action is repeated?
Is there a limitation in which names to use (I believe this is the key!) for example mozilla.png is OK but mymozilla.png is not. So I would have to name the icon with the same name as the application. Is this correct?

The only restriction to user based icons is they must start lowercase alpha.
The uppercase alpha icons are reserved for system icons.
This standard was chosen so that user based and/or mydsl extension icons would sort after the system icons. This would provide consistent and stable positions for system icons while allowing very dynamic icon layout.
