There is an option to add and remove icons from the desktop. If there isn't an appropriate .lnk file for the program you wish to start, you need to create one. Icons and .lnk files are located in /home/dsl/.xdesktop. If you need to create a new icon, open an existing .lnk file for the syntax necessary.
