Im fairly confused at the moment, I did a hard drive install of DSL-N
based on this guide:

The slight difference is I chose to install to HDA1 instead of HDA2 where HDA2 is set to be the 512mb swap.

I got my WiFi working, autoconnects every time now. I know the files in /tmp and home remain... but it doesnt save any installs nor save any configurations.

What do I need to change?!!

Thank you!

I am confused by this post.
The Wiki link is for a traditional hard drive install.
So, everything written to the hard drive would remain.
Only the mounted type of mydsl extensions might cause some confusion as they are mounted and not installed.

But in the body of your text you write /tmp and /home remain?
Actaully parts of /opt and all of /home are in a backup/restore (if a device has been choosen) in a frugal install.

Exclamation

I think I'm having a similar problem. I've installed DSL-N to hard drive then have set up my nic. I set up my proxy to hit the internet. I then go to the mydsl panel and install firefox 1.5.0.5 from Testing or openoffice 2.0 from UCI. They appear in the fluxbox menu under MYDSL and the openoffice icons appear on the desk top. But when I switch the machine off and then later switch it back on the installed software disappears.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
