Forum Index -> HD Install View previous topic :: View next topic   Author Message champted Joined: 15 May 2006 Posts: 2 Location: Northern New York state Posted: Sat Nov 11, 2006 8:45 pm    Post subject: No reboot or shutdown for non-root user I installed DSL-N RC4 to my hard drive using the "simplified HD install" procedure given elsewhere in this forum. I answered "y" to the muti-user question. I created a new user using the "Add User" function. When I boot DSL-N from the hard drive and log in as my new user, and attempt to either reboot or shutdown using the Exit menu from the Fluxbox desktop, nothing happens. I have no trouble rebooting or shutting down in this way if I boot from the hard drive and log in as "root". I have no trouble rebooting or shutting down in this way if I boot from the CD-ROM and use the default user ("dsl"), which doesn't need a login.
