Hi, I have an HP laptop with a broadcom wireless card. It is not supported with the 2.6.12 kernel, so I tried using ndiswrapper.
I followed all the instructions, and I can't get wlan0 to show up.
When I type these commands I get the results listed:
root@dslbox:/#ndiswrapper -l
Installed Drivers:
bcmwl5a driver installed
root@dslbox:/#modprobe ndiswrapper
goes to root prompt with no errors
root@dslbox:/#dmesg | grep ndiswrapper
ndisrapper version 1.14 loaded (preemt=yes,smp=yes)
root@dslbox:/#iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
No matter what I have tried, I just can't seem to get wlan0 to show up at all. Can anyone help me with this? I would really like to try using DSL, but wireless is a must for me since I stay in hotels about 20 days a month.
BTW, I'm using DSL-N on a USB thumbdrive.
Thanks
