I am new to DSL-N and have spent a few happy evenings getting DSL-N working on my EPIA box
I want to use a Microsoft Media Centre remote control (including USB infrared receiver) with my new box. Therefore I would like to install LIRC.
I have already installed RealPlayer under /home/dsl but am worried that LIRC will not get backed up ... so my question is:
Can I do this from a "frugal" USB install or do I need to remaster ?
Alternatively, is the best approach to switch to another distro e.g. KnoppMyth ?
Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

I got irda working on DSL-N without too many problems by downloading the Debian package for irda-utils - see irda-utils.dsl in the testing area of the repository.
I see there are Debian packages for LIRC and LIRC modules, so this might be a good place to start. If it works, you could make an LIRC extension which would avoid the need to back things up. |
