Judging from other posts, there seems to be a wide range of reactions to DSL-N. I personally love it. I already use it for 80% of my work, and will use it even more if I get printing to work. (My printer drivers are a package, and I haven't yet gotten dpkg to work.) Once I get printing to work, I will need Windows only for TurboTax and other things that aren't available for Linux yet.

I don't have strong feelings about the upper size of DSL-N. Small is nice, and DSL should be kept small, but DSL-N is for different users, and size is not so crucial. As long as it fits on one CD. I will be happy.

Thanks ever so much, John Roberts, for all the work you have put into this.

I don't know if you tried it or not, but the instructions in the "apt-g" post got dpkg working for me...

Juanito -- thank you for your suggestion. I'm not sure which post you are talking about. I looked all over the DSL and DSL-N forums and other places on the DSL sites, without much luck. I also did a Google search, but have had no luck.

I have made some progress. But now, dpkg stops with the message:
'install-info' not found on PATH.
I don't know whether install-info is a file, or something that should be included in the package, or what. I have several books on Linux, but they have all of the answers except the ones that I need. If I live long enough (I'm 75 years old) I will probably get this thing working some time.
