I like the software running this board better than the other board over at DSL. Just user feedback, It would be a lot better board if you could convert that board to this same software. |

I agree. phpbb is a very user friendly board. I prefer it to vbulletin.

if bbpress had a couple of the features, I'd have to cast my vote there, if only for my love of rss. But phpbb is much more useful. Defiantly worth the trade off. |

Don't transfer the bugs on this board to DSL's board! DSL's board is perfectly good.
The code on this board needs to be modified so that the entire page, at least an entire post, can be read without using horizontal scroll bars.
Please see:
This board sucks
Sorry, I was trying to be catchy with that title. I didn't mean to be hostile or anything. |

I'm curious as to what browser you use. If you are using firefox, you can try view>page style>no style, I can run my window at a pretty small size if I do that. Just a suggestion. |

Winter Hawk,
It is not the phpbb2 software that is the problem. It is the length of the various titles of messages and heading, etc. that are increasing the width of the forum display.
Under the view menu of your browser, you can reduce the size of the text as it is displayed and it will solve you problem. You can change the text size to suit anytime that you would like.

Yes. That is all true.
I am aware that phpBB is not the problem. In fact, my post actually specifies how the webmaster(s) can fix it.
And I do use smaller text to browse these forums. I would just appreciate it if I didn't have to adjust my browser settings. I don't think I should have to. As I said in my thread, a site should be easily navigatable in 640x480 with a 20pt font.
In truth, I don't see any difference between phpBB and vbulletin. I see them both all over the web (more of phpBB), and I like them both just as well. I just don't like this particular implementation of phpBB, for reasons outlined in my suggestion thread, and I am concerned that if the webmaster(s) decide to convert DSL forum to phpBB, they will make the same mistake they did with this one. |
