I have some experience with Linux SuSE and RedHat. My question:
How to install new application on my USB DSL? On SuSE I am using Yast, on RedHat I used RPM to install. Which one will work on DSL?
Thanks,

For a USB install, first choice should be to get MyDSL extensions from the repository.
Next bet is to use apt-get or dpkg (Debian tool similar to yast or rpm but better).
If you absolutely must install some RPM, you can use the "Alien" program to try and convert it into a DEB file and then use dpkg to install it. |
