i'm stuck.
i can't get dpkg to work. i need dpkg to install the necessary utilities that will help me compile NVIDIA network drivers so i can get on the internet so i can actually use DSL-N as my desktop OS.
I get an error saying it can't find a status file /var/lib/dpkg/status or something like that - i'm in windows, can't remember. yeah just checked, i love QEMU! That was running straight off the live CD.
can anybody help? |

Hi Meethed,
Yeah I missed the bit about it being for a network driver.
I gather u have someway to get files onto this dsl system so if you just download the package from
and place the downloaded file in the root directory of your usb memory key or floopy then when you reboot use the mydsl=uba1 or whatever matchs your usb drive. Or you could put it into the "optional" directory and then you will have the option to install it after boot via the mydsl menu.
These should be the links you need:
I would also grab

ok i downloaded them and installed them using EmelFM or whatever, now when i try and dpkg anything i get an 'install-info' not in path message...
would it be easier to use the base install of ubuntu 5.04 (2.6.11) and build up x, fb, nvidia, etc?? |
