In order to install Windows XP Embedded on our VIA-Epia machines and others, I decided to give DSL-N a try. It just worked out of the box. The first version of the Installer used DSL but I had problems with Kernel 2.4 so I wanted to move up to 2.6. Now with all the tools like ms-sys, parted and so on I am able to create a bootable FAT32 partition on the target that can be converted later to NTFS. It works now on all medias (HD, CF and IDE-Flash) without problems so far. We now are saving big money in licencing costs for Ghost licences and our factory and service personnel are happy to have an install solution that doesn't need any user interactions. Just plug in the pendrive, boot and after a while they have a running machine with the software they need. Great.
Thanks very much for your effort in creating this beautiful Linux distribution.

BTW: Maybe i can convince my boss to spend some money on this project but I can't promise. |
