I have used DSL and was able to get the alsa driver working for my sound card. In DSL-N I use mydsl to install the 3 .dsls and get an error on bootup saying that there isnt room for the install on my usb-zip 1gig installation. then dsl-n just stops booting. since i have not installed anything else, i figure it cant be full. is alsa not working in dsl-n yet? I see no mention of it.
thanks for your help |

Your installation probably tries to write someplace where the file system is not writeable.
I'm struggling with the same issue, attempting to make captive (NTFS support) a myDSL extension. So far I don't fully understand what's writeable and what not. This morning I learned that I can write about 2 MB into the root dir, but no more?
Edit: I also observed that after a .dsl fails for such, subsequent .dsl's also show such errors, although they are normally ok. I have 1GB of RAM, that should't be a problem. I also tried UnionFS, but that didn't work together with the myDSL system, at least for me...

I have had no luck getting ALSA working on either DSL or DSL-N. I noticed in the DSL-N startup there is no mention of typing DSL ALSA. Has anyone got ALSA working on DSL-N, and how is it done? I think it would help me to get skype working, and would generally be good to have working. |

ALSA is not in the base system.
ALSA needs to be created as an extension.
Shouldn't be too difficult, now that we have unionfs. |
