User Feedback :: problem with running dsl from cd

Boot the cd on a newer computer.

Insert a blank floppy.

Choose to create the bootfloppy from the menu.

Simple.

the final step just before you can see the desktop load up, my pc goes blank, black on screen without anything.

Try pressing ctrl+alt+backspace, that should put you in console mode, then you can run xsetup.sh and correct the problem
Thanks to everyone who helped.  I finally got it to work(I was only interested in running it from the cd).  From other posts it seems that my difficulty was that DSL has problems with nVidia cards which is what I have.  Using all the relevant posts and replies here's how I got it to work:  let the cd load until the blank screen.  Use control-alt-F1 to get to the command prompt.  Enter xsetup.sh and run it.  Choose xfbdev, then mouse and keyboard options.   At the next command prompt enter startx. I now get the full screen, icons, etc and everything works.

Seems to me to much easier to boot the cd with

dsl xsetup   ???

All these boot options are explained if you press F2 & F3 at the first boot prompt.
