User Feedback :: Succesful install on a Pentium1 166Mhz 16Mo

Just to thanks the authors and contributors of dsl.
I were looking for a small GNU/LINUX distrib. to make a web server with an old PC, and I installed DSL in less than an hour on the HDD.
I didn't thought that it was possible to run a X server with 16Mo !!

Great !

BTW: How can i make a dsl package ?

Cheers.

Actually your best bet would be to do a "frugal" install with a persistant /home /opt directory ...then download XAMPP and run that machine in runlevel 2 (no gui (has gui for emergency repairs and stuff)) since the XAMPP installs/runs from /opt directory you will have a full bore apache webserver!!

XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start.

Just 4 simple steps and you will be hosting with apache w/ a webconfiguration gui built in!!!!
