User Feedback :: Configure Problem: Printer Installation
Hello... so far my fist Linux installation has gone well. I've installed DSL onto a 350 IMB Pentium machine with 320 MB RAM. I even partitioned the disk - first time ever!
Everything would be great, except I can't install my printer despite very thorough installation directions provided by HP.
*These directions can be found here >>
http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/install.php#download_install
I've downloaded the source files and I have gotten up to step 6 of the above directions. Here is step 6 >>
# Enter this command to configure the computer for the driver: $./configure --prefix=/usr
Once I do this, it seems like its searching for certain files and then its spits out the followinf error message >>>
config: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
********
What does this mean? What am I missing? Up to this point the directions from HP were working, are there obvious holes in these directions that I am missing?
Your help is appreciated,
