I have been having great trouble installing dsl onto my cf card through its reader. I have tried everything and done lots of research so dont tell me just to search I have done that and read every post. I do not have a internet connection on my linux machine because I cannot get the wifi to work. So I thought I would just use the install boot option but when I try in 2.4 I only get "kernel not found". I would really like to figure how to install this.hi all,
i noticed dslinux works fine in live mode. well now i need to install dslinux onto a cf card 512Mb to run the os form a lil IBM thinclient 2200 that uses cf as hd. well my problem is simple. DSLinux cant see /dev/sdb that is drive.
i have formatted cf using fdisk (this done from a Suse linux 10.1, but i think this not rilevant) then i rebooted running dsl and tried to perform frugal installation but no way.
tried olso classic fdisk -l to enumerate devices and partitions but i only have hda partitions..
lsmod said dslinux charge usb and scsi modules on startup (as right).
is it possible that the problem is i use a USB reader while i need a IDE converter?
anyone can help me?CF-IDE converter makes it so simple.

CF-IDE converter makes it so simple.
i begin to think that is impossible to perform installation using a usb cf reader.
i had tried so many times but with no escape. it always gives me I/O ERROR in reading cf card in /dev/sda or sdb position.
do u think i have to try with this IDE converter? and do u have any link 'bout this stuff?
