User Feedback :: internet connection help

I'm trying to get on the internet with dsl after configuring connection then hitting dial
i get the msg can't get terminal parameters: Input/output error. what does this mean?
I put in the right com port.(com3 ) /dev/ttyS2 maybe my modem can't do linux?
its a netdragon v.92voice/fax modem.
oh and thanks for the wiki cheat codes i actually have icons and can see my screen a lot better after putting vga=normal in . one mystery solved lol.
