User Feedback :: Help with compaq 1235 laptop install

Hello all,

I am trying to install DSL 2.1b onto a compaq 1235 laptop (486 w/98meg ram) and am having an issue with the display. it loads with it all messed up like a screen door. I have tried to change the resolution, load with fb800x600 without success. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe try booting with vga=normal option?
Then select 800x600 when prompted.

What video card does this use?

got it to work. Choose the frame buffering option and made sure I selected OK. didnt select OK before just hit enter and it didnt take.

Only wish it would recognise my dlink wireless card. DWL-g650 cant connect to the internet without it. Wont recog my etnernet card as well.
