What file are you attempting to change?  If you're trying to make changes to /usr/share/fluxbox/backgrounds you're looking in the wrong place.  Personal background images are stored in /home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds.

If you're having trouble with file permissions in /home/dsl, there is either something messed up with your system, or you are not telling us something.  Are you logged in as another user and trying to modify files in /home/dsl?

Wallpapers, that reminds me i came across the code to let you change backgrounds on the fly from the menu and i haven't tried it in DSL yet.

mikshaw, you want to see if it works in DSL fluxbox? Here's the code to add to the .fluxbox/menu->

[submenu] (Backgrounds)
 [wallpapers] (/usr/share/fluxbox/backgrounds)
 [wallpapers] (~/.fluxbox/backgrounds)
[end]
[end]

The "wallpapers" feature was added to Fluxbox during the 0.9.x development, so it will not work in DSL.
thanks mykshaw yes you're right i was tried to change /usr/share/fluxbox/backgrounds, now i'll try in home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds i take your advice and i told you later..
hey excuse me but how did you know where were stored the background images please explain me man...
