User Feedback :: Nice..........
Hi, been reading about DSL for awhile now. I even messed around with it on the xbox. I recently moved to a new city with my family to start a new job and I had to leave all my stuff in storage including my computer. I came across this cheap laptop with no operating system and instantly thought of DSL. It works great, I've been very happy. I managed to get high speed DSL internet hooked up and found the right network PC card that works right with Damn Small Linux. First I downloaded the ISO from a internet cafe and burned it to disk and I have been online ever since. Everything so far runs fast and fairly easy after some reading.
My specs:
Dell Latitude CPi PII 300 mhz laptop
128 megs of ram
12 gig HD
HD install (runs faster then from CD and I can't boot from USB key)
D-link DFE-690TXD PC card
Small tip, my Dell Latitude CPi only displays correctly at 1024x768x16 otherwise the display is purple. Took a little trial and error to find that out. Otherwise everything works great. Thanks for such a great program, I have firefox, msn messenger, it plays my MP3's great and soon I will see how well it plays xvids. Thanks again.

you might want to run xsetup.sh and select xfbdev instead of xvesa...xfbdev uses a frame buffer that laptops seem to like...
