User Feedback :: DSL Hardware compatibility vrs Puppy

Could anyone tell me about the hardware compatibiliy of DSL compared to Puppy Linux for 5 to 9 year old desktops and laptops.

Would it be possible to say one is likely to be compatible with a wider range of hardware than the other. (for installation + getting dial up modem, usb broadband modem and usb printer working - no specific model in mind, but just an overall compatibility question)

Is DSL 'very' compatible with most hardware ? old computers and new peripherals ?
