User Feedback :: The Joy of DSL
I'm new to Linux (tho not to computing, God help me). I found DSL on a cover disk and was delighted to find a 10-year-old PC (400 MHz, 64 MB) ran beautifully straight from the Live CD. Now I'm trying to make my 7-year-old Thinkpad do everything there is to do, and having fun learning Linux. Of course DSL is different - none of the beginner's books mention it. And that's a pity, cos DSL has a lot to offer.
My objective - to avoid Vista. Who needs Aero? Who needs to buy a bigger machine to run bloat?
Thanks and rose petals on all those who answer dumb noob questions in these forums.
Sounds like you've found the dsl religion!
My specs: 233Mhz and 48Mb RAM, with faulty hard drive. DSL including X runs well and I've installed so many apps I can't even remember them all.
