User Feedback :: DSL on New Tiny PC - ebox-2300 / TU-40 / ewayco.co

Has anyone had any luck with getting DSL running on this tiny desktop machine?

It has an IDE-Based CF Card interface.

I have tried the USB Hard Disk install and could not get the machine to boot.

Puppy Linux currently supports its, but Damn Small is much more polished and is the Linux of my choice.

If it's IDE based, I don't think you should be using the usb scripts at all.

Using a regular frugal installation (or other hd-install types) should work.

Sorry for not being clear.

The target machine (ebox-2300) has a compact flash slot that is treated as an IDE hard drive.

I need to use my main machine which has a USB based compact flash reader / writer to "burn" the compact flash card so that I can pull it out and stick it into the ebox-2300.

I can load up DSL with my main machine but the ebox-2300 won't boot.

It sees the card, but the boot loader is not configured correctly.  I just get a black screen.

USB script does not work on CF IDE.  You may use USB Pendrive and USB script on another PC, then use that Pendrive for booting on the Tiny Machine and make Frugal HDD Installation to CF IDE as hda1.  Good luck   :D
The ebox series was discussed awhile ago. See this thread.
