User Feedback :: Desktop Styles are not saved.

Hello,

there is a wrong path in /home/dsl/filetool.lst since DSL 0.8.4.
Due to that bug the settings of the Desktop Styles are not saved with "sudo filetool.sh backup".

In /home/dsl/filetool.lst I changed the path

"home/dsl/.fluxbox/background" to
"home/dsl/.fluxbox/"

Then the settings of the fluxbox are stored again.
The directory "background" doesn't exist anyway.

BTW
I want to have xmms back again since the new DSL Media Player can't play icecast/shoutcast streams. Or am I doing something wrong?

Martin

You can download the xmms.dsl from the multimedia section of the repository.

It's 667k, a lot smaller, and easier for the dial-up junkies around here to download than Firefox, which was like 8 meg.

The filetool.lst should include the two lines

home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds
home/dsl/.fluxbox/styles

If yours is different, then it is being modified by an
altered copy in your backup.

The reason for not having the entire .fluxbox directory
in the backup is that upon restoring from backup,
the file " menu " will be overwritten with a copy that
is not current for you.
Depending on WHEN you create your latest backup,
the menu may contain many links to extensions
in your "mydsl" section ..

Once restored via backup, or at bootup, these links will be dead,
as you may not have enabled these extensions at startup.

If you would like to have your desktop "theme" restored
upon a fresh restore, or at startup, include the line
home/dsl/.fluxbox/init
in your next backup.
