YW and thanks for your help.Even if that version of Beaver WAS worse than MP, I expect that improvements have been made to Beaver that may resolve some of the complaints.
It will probably never be a Scite or even an Nedit but the latest version of Beaver might be the best bang-for-the-buck as far as syntax highlighing text editors go.SU, thanks for the help you have given me and the help you have given others, as I have learned from that as well.

Seriously, though I'm not an old school geek, vi (vim) is probably the best damn text editor there is (not to start a flame war with the emacs whackos ).

Actually, Beaver is no longer in active development. Which is really too bad. A few minor bugfixes, like in bash script syntax recognition, and it would be a REALLY nice editor. And tabbed editing rocked.

Emacs really isnt an editor anymore. It's an operating system that runs INSIDE Linux. O_o
