yeah, make a backup file and put it in the root of the cd. :)

Type "dsl noicons" at the boot prompt to get rid of the icons.

For the other stuff, you can find the appropriate files and add them to filetool.list and use the backup/restore function to save your settings onto a usb device, the hard disk, or even a floppy.

Thanks SaidinUnleashed,

But i do not want to use anything at all, apart from the CD. NO USB, HDD anything.

Thanks AwPhuch,
I will give this a try. But they need to be part of DSL CD, like adding a dsl extension file to the / In other words, whenever I start my DSL CD, they must be available to me. f this is a file I can copy to the CD boot sector or something, that would be fine. I will try something out and get back.

Thanks ke4nt1,

I did not know this was included! I will try this out!

But no backing up to other devices allowed! It must be entirely and independently from CD!

Get the "free' winiso trial program and add the whitebox dsl to the iso then burn to cd and it will auto load it at boot...very simple

Hi ico2
THis is what i was going to do. I think it will work, now that you too think so!

AwPhuch.

Thanks. Now it iis my turn to try all this and get back to you nice people. I was promoting Linux with Knoppix all this time, but with this ability to configure easily without remastering, using  a CDRW or CDR wihtout closiing the CD, DSL must become the showcase distro. Winiso is not necessary for this. BTW we now have kiso in Linux to do it!  Go away w@%iso :-)
