User Feedback :: Apt-Get Problem
Okay, well i'm new to linux and all. The help in the irc channel has been great, but i am still having trouble with the install of my eggdrop and TCL for it.
I have tried to do a make command for the TCL, but it also stops with a [TclExecute.c] Error 1.
Tronik recommended that i use apt-get, but i am having a bit of trouble trying to get it to work. I downloaded dpkg, and extracted it. Is there anything else i need to do to it? I have tried apt-get install eggdrop, and I cant seem to find it now.
Where do the apt-get files go after you do an install?
just wanted to close this thread and say Tickle got his stuff working.
The package files get stored in
/var/cache/apt/archives
If you wish to re-install them, you still need the dsl-dpkg extension or "Enable Apt" or "Synaptic".
sudo su
dpkg -i name_of_packagefile.deb
I did the apt-get install eggdrop on the console....
What directory does Eggdrop install into?
original here.
