User Feedback :: help!! i cant boot

Hi,
I cant boot either. I always get only a black screen after the question to color-depth.
I tried the two previously mentioned boot-commands with no success.
I have tried DSL 0.9.0.1 and DSL 1.4 with no success.

I have an ATI-Rage grafics-card. Is there an incompatibility ?
So far I could boot every KNOPPIX from 3.3 to 3.9.
Why not DSL ?

Rage should work fine.

Does this work?

dsl vga=normal

and the chooce Xvesa server and choose 800 x 600 x 16 bit

Unfortunately, this does not work either. After selecting the keymap, only a black screen follows with the USB-Stick blinking normally.

"failsafe" produces the same result.

Hmm..

How about:

dsl vga=769 xsetup

and then choose the xfbdev server when prompted?

Success !

The last recommendation produced at least "getting started" in dark blue letters on black background, but no living desktop.

The success came with

dsl vga=791 xsetup
and
xfbdev server.
