User Feedback :: yes! dsl  installed & I am happy!

I run DSL from a CF card using an adapter in a Toshiba 3010CT P266/96MB lappy with a Netgear MA401 wireless card.
Surfs well enough, and VNC lets me manage my faster machines while enjoying a silent laptop. Much more stable than the Win98 it replaced, but running from CF is key for me.
DSL is why I'll be buying another CF-IDE adapter (from the DSL store this time!)  and converting a spare Vaio.

I recently got a freebie pent 150 mhz running with 64 mb ram, on a 2 gig HD........AMAZINGLY FAST with DSL on the HD...

I just might look into getting the dsl on CF disk with the 3.5" adapter!

Might be worth while to look into it...probably would freeking scream on my compac 600Mhz with 256Meg RAM!

Would something like this: http://www.gs-magic.com/english/product/product_01_22CFPLUS.htm be any better since it is a true "harddrive" and allow for swap space??

Found one for $75!! http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code=111582

2.2Gig and re-writeable for only 20 more...or would a system not be able to detect that?

haha wow I got two computers exactly like that from a freind up the street who thought they were broken...

Free computers rock, even if theyre big and nearly useless. I put DSL on three computers in the same room now and I feel like a mad scientist sitting there with three screens in front of me...
