User Feedback :: First time on Linux, really impressed!
This is my first time using any linux distro and im really impressed. My computer runs like a dream! However, how do i access my harddrive? I tried to play an mp3 file and couldnt get into my harddrive. I have a 40gb NTFS hd and im running DSL from the cd.
Thanks!
You need to mount the hard drive first. In the bottom right hand corner you will see what is known as "The Slit." It will allow you to mount and unmount your drives easily. Use the right or left arrows to scroll through until you see "hda1" (This is you c: drive) and press the button that looks like a screw to the left of the arrows. Then use emelfm to browse to "/mnt/hda1."
Search google and the forums to learn more about how Linux manages drives.
Good Luck,
thanks, i will try that
EDIT: it worked, thanks I had mounted the drive before but i didnt know where to access it!
