Is a screensaver on by default? My Toshiba Tecra 530CDT screen goes blank after about 10-15 min and won't come back when I press keys or move the mouse. Otherwise things are fine, and if I keep using it it's okay. I can press ctl-alt-backspace and get back to the command line, which shows up fine, and run startx and I'm back in business - but of course my X programs have all died when I get back into X.
I'm guessing there might be a screensaver enabled by default, that I need to get rid of? Any troubleshooting tips?xset -s off
Try adding that to the beginning of /home/dsl/.xinitrc

xset s off (not -s) seems to work, thanks!I often forget when to use - or -- or nothing, as there is little consistency between applications. Thanks for the correction =o)
