X and Fluxbox :: Blank screen
How do I make DSLinux understand my nVidia gForce 64 AGP card?
For several rounds, I had a totally black screen when it finished the basic process of starting up.
Now, I can get a text login by messing with the display options on start-up.
The obvious question is, "How in hell can you change the display settings when the blasted thing starts from a CD?" And starts anew each time....
I suppose I could attempt to install it from a command-line, and then try screwing around with various config files, but that seems both backward and arduous!
It would be nice to get as far as trying to get this USR5610B modem to work, but I can't see what I'm doing!
To quote the Pope in "The Penultimate Supper," "I'm not. Happy. At all."
Any suggestions?

Different video card, same problem
Radeon 9000 with a KDS Rad-7 LCD(17", 1280x1024) monitor
Doing fb1280x1024 works ok but framebuffer is ungodly slow at such a high resolution.
I have an FX5200, and I have to run the fbserver.
'Cause I only have a 15" monitor, I run 800x600, so at the initial boot prompt I type "dsl vga=789", select "fbserver" instead of the vesa one, select the mouse, and up it pops.
The vesa server gives the blank screen for some unkown reason, only seemed to do it after version 0.8
