X and Fluxbox :: screen goes black after boot

hey I'm new to linux here. I've installed DSL linux on a 426mb HD on my 2400+ AMD athlon xp. i ran DSL on a CD it worked fine, then installed DSL, and still worked. but the day after, I begain to load DSL from my HD and after the booting process, the screen goes blank, nothing. I tried booting from the CD, still the same thing.

does any one know what could be wrong?

Try ctrl+alt+backspace and see if you get a prompt
or try alt+f1
If you get a prompt, type:

xsetup.sh

There are several option to choose from. Play around with them and see what happens.
Not saying it will fix it, but worth a shot.
