X and Fluxbox :: to X or not to X

OK I finally HD installed the new verssion of DSL and as with the old-one I istalled the Xfree86 extention to make use of the X -broadcast feature but this time around only works as root and not as a DSL user it comes back with this error
X unable to open wrapper config file /etc/x11/wrapper.config
/etc/X11/X is not executable.
what can be wrong this time around I did everything as last time .
maybe I should ask John or one of the big guns to make a remaster with Xfree86 for my project and save my sanity!!!
