X and Fluxbox :: remote x server

how do i make x on dsl to listen on port 6000?
its not doing it by default.

i want to connect to it remotely from another box on the
lan. how do i do that?

thanks.

ok well, i found out that /usr/sbin/xsetup.sh and /etc/X11/xsetup holds an argument of
-nolisten tcp in them so i removed it but looking at netstat im still not seeing x listening on port 6000. so i tried runing the vncserver, it asked for a password, then netstat showing
6001,6002 and 5902 and 5901 ports listening on the machine though for some reason i cant seem
to connect to the box from a linux box using the vncviewer or tightvnc client from a windows box.
any ideas?

ok, some progress.
i tried connecting the tightvnc windows client to 10.200.1.7:1 and it works just fine.
now how do i do that through a linux box?

and another question-
is it possible to entirely duplicate the desktop? like with the window manager, background, etc?

Are you wanting a VNC-like remote session? Or are you wanting old-school unix remote X server abilities?

If you are wanting a VNC connection to DSL, you must download and install vnc4x-1.4.6.dsl. Make sure to read the info file too, for how to set it up.

As for server/client X connections, I'm not sure whether or not Xvesa can do that, but I will find out.

i'm not sure I understand the difference between remote X server and remote VNC.
I want to be able to connect to my entire desktop remotely. Like, see the memoryand the cpu usage and all thos barrs, and see the background image and be able to do right-click and get the dsl flubox menu.

which option is that? and am i able to do it?
