X and Fluxbox :: multiple instances in Mydsl menu

When I right click on the desktop and navigate to mydsl menu I have multiple instances of:   'install optional extensions'

One for everytime I have booted into dsl since I last cleared them out of the .fluxbox/menu

I believe this began happening when I upgraded to 1.3 from 1.0 (or 1.1) and didn't follow the 1.3 pre release announcement instructions (which I have done since).

any ideas?

I've never seen that before.  One thing you could do to narrow down the possibilities is to back up a fresh menu.  Copy the one from /etc/skel/.fluxbox into /home/dsl/.fluxbox (changing the owner to dsl), and back up.  If you get the same result, at least we'll know that the menu file isn't the problem.
I believe I had the same problem when I upgraded to 1.3, if I remember right I thought it had something to do with the fact that it was backing up the menu and than adding  to it upon reboot. Cant say how to fix it though, I reinstalled for other reasons.
You have to add home/dsl/.fluxbox/menu to .xfiletool.lst.

Everytime you shutdown, you are backing up your menu file and everytime you boot up you are adding another instance of *insert program* to the mydsl menu.  Thus giving multiple instances in the mydsl menu.

You could also try editing the .dsl file that is the culprit if you feel so inclined.  That way, you could backup and change your menu.

Thanx for your responses!

Mikshaw,  I didn't think that would do anything but I tried it anyway. And.... It didn't do anything :D

adssse, I'm fairly certain you are right as to why it is happening. I don't understand the mechanism behind the automated menu creation so I don't have a clue as to how to fix it either.

YourFuzzyGod,  I already have that entry in my .xfiletool.lst.  Futhermore, it's not one .dsl that is the culprit, it's the automatic generation of the 'install optional extensions' menu that is causing the problems. (at least for me, I think as a result of something I did when I upgraded to 1.3).
