I installed everything from the live CD for DSL, I selected a login name and a password and it worked just once, the second time I wanted to sign in, system keeps on telling me " invalid login". How can I reset this function? this is happening during the process the linux applicacion is being loaded to my laptop. Any feedback would be really appreciated.How did you install (and how are you using) DSL? Which accounts are you trying to access? (forgot password?)
In general, you could try: - copy over the original /etc/shadow file from the cd (or another one in which you know the account/password) - remove the password from the account you forgot in /etc/shadow. Should be like:
