Other Help Topics :: Mounting Compact Flash via USB

Hello - I have done a HD install of DSL onto a Compact Flash via IDE on the motherboard.  When I remove the flash and put it on another machine on the external card reader connected USB that is up and running and logged in as root user, I can mount the drive and access all of the files on the flash (SanDisk SDCFH - UltraII).  However, when I do the same thing with a different kind of flash, SanDisk SDCFB, I cannot mount the flash and access the files.  Has anyone ever seen this before and is there something I can change that prevents the mounting of any flash in this fashion?  I have contacted SanDisk and they said they do not support Linux or anything regarding Linux whatsoever.  Thank you in advance for any help :)
What version of DSL?
What sizes are the CF cards?

2.2b and 512MB
Regardless of the flash type, is there a way to prevent the mounting my flash via USB?  Some flashes will mount, some won't.  I don't think it has to do with the controller firmware on the flash - it doesn't make sense - it has to be something that I did possibly, maybe?
Well if you can update the firmware, that's worth trying.
How did you set up the geometry/partitions on those CF's?
