Other Help Topics :: old bios wont boot from CD

i have an old comp and i'm trying to run DSL but it wont boot from the CD because its old and it doesent have the option where can i get a boot disk to make it work ?
i found it on the cd, but i dont have rawrite2 where can i get it from. Also all my floppy disks are 1.38 meg, anyone know how i can fix that ?
You can find it on just about any GNU/Linux install CD for the majority of distros out there (the bigger ones, not necessarily the smaller ones, like DSL, that try to keep it <50 MB lean). But, lacking having any of them around and handy, it can also be found for download at:

HTH!

ok, i got it working from the boot floppy it made, thanks
You can make old computers boot off the cdrom drive even though the bios does not support it. Smart bootmanager is a program which makes this possible. It can be installed on the boot sector of a harddisk or on a floppy disk. The program is very small, so it boots up much quicker than a full kernel on a floppy disk. Smart bootmanager can be found here :)
