Other Help Topics :: Read-only filesystem

I have been using dsl for a long time now, and I have to say, it's my favorite distro. Only one problem though: I want to be able to write to the filesystem when it is loaded into ram without copying over the entire file-system into a writable directory. Is this even possible? Thanks in advance
