Other Help Topics :: Differences between DSL versions 3.x and 4.x

The main page shows a version 3.x and a version 4.x as the current versions of DSL.  What are the important differences between 3.x and 4.x?  How can both be current?  If version 3.x is current, shouldn't that make 4.x an experimental version?  Conversely, if version 4.x is the current version, shouldn't version 3.x be considered old?
3.x Application launching from limited icons, Application centric. Menu driven

4.x Drag-N-Drop, folder/document centric, many icons, can be run menuless.

Both are being maintained. So both are considered current.

Thanks.  I'm still using version 3.3.  Should I upgrade to version 3.4.8 or to 4.2.2?
Depends on your perspective. Which type of computing do you prefer? Try the live CD of 4.2.2 to try it out.
I have updated the website's main page to reflect the differences.
