Suspect you would be better off trying to compile the kernel under the full knoppix distro.
DSL has had so much removed to reduce it's size that it would be easier to have a full install and remove the unwanted than to wrestle with all the missing libraries and dependancies.

That said I suspect someone will have tried it
but lifes too short............
